County Strategies for Reducing Maternal Health Disparities

Thursday, November 17, 2022 | 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 .pm. Eastern Time

Counties play a key role in managing the multiple systems that influence maternal health outcomes. Maternal morbidity and mortality rates in the United States have increased in recent years and are much higher compared to rates in other wealthy nations. Systemic inequities greatly contribute to wide disparities in maternal health outcomes – Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes and Native American women are more than twice as likely to die compared to White women.

Women living in rural areas also experience worse maternal health outcomes compared to women living in urban areas. Join this webinar to learn about the available national and local resources and potential strategies counties can use to address the current maternal health crisis and save lives.
