Understanding Enterprise Service Management

Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) has proven to be an effective methodology for organizational IT delivery, using a combination of ITIL® best practices and end user feedback to fuel continual improvement. The benefits of ITSM range from cost savings to faster response to higher constituent engagement, so how can county governments apply ITSM practices to other business areas, such as human resources, legal, and finance? The answer – Enterprise Service Management (ESM). ESM is a methodology for organizations seeking to manage and connect what were once disconnected, complex business operations by extending traditional ITSM workflows outside of the IT organization and across the enterprise. Learn the differences between ESM and ITSM, and how implementing ESM can help eliminate redundancies and offer reliable, consistent delivery across the enterprise.
